1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using westlaw-club.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy and Cookie Policies. If you are using the site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the site.
We provide informational content and optional consultations related to Westlaw research practices. We do not provide legal advice. Use of this site does not create an attorney-client relationship, and no confidential information should be submitted through the public contact form. If you need a privileged channel, request one explicitly and wait for confirmation before sharing case details.
We may update these terms from time to time. Section 8 explains how we will notify you of changes and when the revised terms become effective.
2. Use of service
The site is intended for professional and educational use by legal practitioners, librarians, legal operations teams, and related professionals evaluating research workflows. You may view, share, and cite our articles for informational purposes so long as you attribute Westlaw Club and do not misrepresent authorship.
Prohibited activities. You agree not to (a) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure; (b) introduce malware, automated scraping, or excessive load; (c) use the site to develop competing products or services that copy substantial portions of our content; (d) misrepresent our relationship with Thomson Reuters or any other third party; or (e) use the site in violation of applicable law.
Availability. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance windows, network disruptions, or updates may temporarily affect the site. When feasible, we will schedule maintenance during off-peak hours and post notice for extended outages.
Third-party links. Articles may link to external resources, including Thomson Reuters documentation. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices. Following external links is at your discretion.
3. User obligations
To keep the site useful and compliant, you agree to provide accurate information when submitting forms and to interact in good faith. If you request a walkthrough or training, you are responsible for ensuring that sharing any materials with us complies with your professional obligations, confidentiality duties, and vendor policies.
Responsible sharing. Do not include client names, docket numbers, or privileged facts in the public contact form. If you need to share matter context, describe it in general terms until we establish a secure channel.
Compliance with law. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the site complies with laws and regulations applicable to you, including export controls, privacy laws, and professional conduct rules. Because our content discusses legal research platforms, you should verify that any workflows described align with licensing terms applicable to your organization.
Feedback. If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant Westlaw Club a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and incorporate that feedback into our content without obligation to you. This helps us iterate quickly while crediting contributors where feasible.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the site—including text, graphics, layouts, and custom images—is owned by Westlaw Club or its contributors, except where otherwise noted. You may reference or quote short excerpts for educational or internal purposes with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions, create derivative works, or use our branding without prior written permission.
Trademarks. “Westlaw” and related marks are trademarks of Thomson Reuters and are used here solely for descriptive purposes. Westlaw Club is independent and not affiliated with Thomson Reuters. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to use Thomson Reuters trademarks.
License grants. Except for limited sharing described above, no license or assignment of intellectual property rights is granted to you. If we provide downloadable materials (such as checklists), they are licensed for internal use by your organization and may not be sold or publicly redistributed.
6. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the site at any time without notice if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, attempted to compromise site security, or engaged in abuse. You may stop using the site at any time. Sections concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law survive termination.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
8. Changes to these terms
When we update these terms, we will revise the “Last updated” date and post the new version on this page. Material changes that affect your rights will be highlighted within the page. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
